Just ransack your garage or the attic for a worn-out car tire. Next, scout out a twisted rope or knotted iron string that is tensile enough to support at least a ton (of weight). After that find out the ideal spacious space to dangle your dream swing slide. You’d also need some washers, screws and knots. Fix the different parts of the paraphernalia. TRACING THE DERIVATIVES OF ‘WICKER’
The term ‘wicker’ is a Scandinavian derivative. Wickers are plaited osiers or a set of such shoot of any raw material that can be used as material to make baskets. They can be sliced from the hundreds of grass or bamboo species. Rattan or cane is a popular example of wicker specie; then there are the ones woven out of coconut shells; some are prepared from barks and leaves of trees and plants like pineapple.
Similarly, ‘osier’ also refers to the willow or its shoot that is used to design basketwork; hence wickerwork is the wicker or any thing made from it. The willow is a tree featuring pliant branches from which osiers and timber for cricket-bats are got. Such trees generally grow near water.
